Dr. Friedbert Pflüger is a shareholder and managing director of the Clean Energy Forum (CEF) and has worked for four decades in leadership positions in politics, business, management, and science. Pflüger is a founding partner of Pflüger International, which he created with his wife in 2009. Pflüger is the author of several books, including A Planet is Saved: A Chance for Man, Nature, Technology (Econ 1992) and Energiewende besser machen – Technik und Wirtschaft statt Ideologie (Herder 2024). From 1981–89 he was a close associate of German President Richard von Weizsäcker, and from 1990–2006 a member of the Bundestag (Chairman of the Europe Committee, CDU/CSU Foreign Policy Spokesman, and Parliamentary State Secretary). From 2009–2020, he was a visiting professor at King's College London. Pflüger is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zukunft Gas, The Voice of the Gas and Hydrogen Economy. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Climate, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) and a Senior Fellow at the Global Energy Centre of the Atlantic Council, Washington D.C.

Full-time Managing Director of the Clean Energy ForumDr. Ruprecht Brandis
Ruprecht Brandis has been the full-time Managing Director of the Clean Energy Forum since March 15, 2024. He previously worked for bp for 20 years, including around 12 years as Director External Affairs Germany and Head of bp's Berlin office. From October 2021 to February 2024, Ruprecht Brandis was Senior Advisor Europe with various European responsibilities in bp's Communications & External Affairs division. Before joining bp, he was a lawyer and ministerial official, first in the Federal Ministry of Economics and then in the Federal Chancellery.

After studying in Dresden and Hannover, she obtained a Master’s degree in Communication and Advertising in Magdeburg. From 2000 to 2003, she worked as a policy advisor and Chief of Staff in the German Bundestag, followed by a role as an advisor to the management of the German Foundation for World Population (DSW).
From 2005 to 2011, Sibylle Pflüger was a corporate affairs officer at EnBW AG, initially responsible for protocol and board events, later focusing on CSR, sustainability, and corporate positioning. Sibylle is managing partner of Pflüger International GmbH.
